It's true, this soon-to-be big sister has a little brother on the way!
I had so much fun working with this gorgeous family. They are, quite simply, the best. Since mom was already close to her due date we opted to hold her maternity session indoors so we wouldn't have to worry about the weather, and I'm so happy we did! We had such an incredibly fun time together. We played, we laughed, we got cheerios stuck to our hands (well, at least I did), it was a blast. Working with toddlers is always a treat because they are so big on personality, and big sister-to-be was no exception. She was beyond charming and fun. And those big blue eyes! Guh! It's hard to get more adorable than that.
I always love working in families' homes because it makes the images so personal. Every image is a reflection of you and your life and your home with your family. We get to use your things, in your space. The way you live everyday. Plus it means we can re-visit the same spaces during your newborn session, creating a lovely "before and after" for your family. Before new baby, and after new baby. For families considering an album, it's also a beautiful way to create a cohesive album that flows beautifully from beginning to end.
I can't wait to meet the new baby boy when he makes his debut, but until then here are a few images from our session together - enjoy!
There is something so special about what a silhouette brings to maternity photos. They are simple, and lovely, and focus on what's most important: an expecting mama. Whenever possible I try to capture a silhouette or two during maternity sessions because they are so perfect for documenting a pregnancy. I was thrilled to hear Karen request a silhouette in her gallery and I think they turned out so beautifully. She is just stunning.
I loved capturing this family of three together before they turn into a family of four. Soon-to-be big brother Declan was a riot during the session. The final images may seem serene, but just imagine an excited toddler running around in the background. Declan photobombed more than his fair share of photos during this session, it was hilarious to see his little head pop up when I was going through the final images for this gallery! He is so loved, and so much fun. He and his new little brother are going to be a blast together.
I am so thrilled to be a part of documenting this family of three as they become a family of four. Mama Karen is simply gorgeous - anyone else dying over her red hair? - and she is so kind and lovely. I am so looking forward to meeting their newest baby boy when he is born for his newborn session.
